Time Will Tell
Some of the things that run through my head
Really silly stuff, like I'm better off dead
The echoes of a cold, still room
Get swept away with thoughts of doom
Now, I dream of a day of sheer happiness
Of moments like these, peppered with bliss
Romance and roses, my children with smiles
Cheering and laughter, the end of my miles
Alas, my start, very late in life
I'm so far along, without a wife
My long lonely road, pot-holed with strife
Amends I must make, along with a life
I am no fool, in fact, I am smart
A fresh start, I worry, do I have heart?
My family and loved ones, own crosses they bear
I am often amazed, how much they care
My brother, is he, who props me up
He offers me bread and soup from a cup
Sisters, my sis', how lucky am I!
She gives me support, she helps me to try
Father and Mother. Where would I be?
If not for you two, I would not see
My children, my babies, I do not deserve
Keep me alive, truly, for the God I serve.
I suppose, ‘tis at the end, we shall surely see
For in my heart, I search for courage, to be all I can be.
